Engineered Reality

Vegas, the mecca of money, or the manifestation of the science of parting you from yours. From the minute you land at the airport and are greeted by the slot machines beckoning your hope, everything around you is engineered to assist you in parting with your dollars willingly. It's impossible to walk out of our hotel room without being confronted by the noisy invitation of different gambling devices.

Even though it's not natural, it is beautiful. Grand structures further than you can see, all vying for your attention. A wonderful place to be a tourist, take pictures, buy silly gifts and walk on the street carrying your overpriced cocktail in hand if you wish.

So far we have attracted a few interesting people to us and the best experiences yet have been the shows and performances.

I havent seen a meditation room yet, but I can get into the spa with treatments starting at $70. Nah, I think Id rather enjoy my $6 latte and keep walking.

Whether you think you can, or think you can't,
You are right.

Peace,
-Mikel

Ha, ha; can't imagine a Man of God in Las Vegas. The incongruity boggles the mind. Another Man, Feynman, gives the trick of having fun in Las Vegas: (from his Certainly, Mr. Big)

Then, as now, Las Vegas made its money on the people who gamble, so the whole problem for the hotels was to get people to come there to gamble. So they had shows and dinners which were very inexpensive—almost free. You didn't have to make any reservations for anything: you could walk in, sit down at one of the many empty tables, and enjoy the show. It was just wonderful for a man who didn't gamble, because I was enjoying all the advantages—the rooms were inexpensive, the meals were next to nothing, the shows were good, and I liked the girls.

Oooh that Vegas is gone. The shows are great and cost a lot, meals are not free or cheap and the ones that are should be avoided for fear of a gastric interruption.

It is a great place for a break from normality and to test your willpower against their advanced psychological money magnets. We had a good time...
