Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves, without any insistence that they satisfy you.
~ Wayne Dyer
Welcome back. It's been some time since I've visited but now I am here. My introspection and self-growth of the last while has been like an in-breath, feeding my spiritual self. Now its time for an out-breath, starting slowly and keeping it that way for a time, feeding life into outpourings here and energy into my other spiritual projects.
There have been many many changes for me, within me and through me in the last while and now is the time to pursue balance for the longer term; not just to benefit myself but also you and those that follow.
Recently I was re-minded of this quote I love - "For things to change, you have to change". There are few that I know of that incorporate or carry this philosophy within themselves constantly, without effort. My teacher/guru is one such.
Personally I am able to hold this intention for long periods of time and sometimes short periods of time or not at all, until of course I am re-minded or choose to be.
We are all at very intimately different personal spaces within our individual journeys toward the same destination, which are incomparable with others. In fact, to compare your personal opinion of your spiritual growth, enlightenment and awareness with any other persons, can be quite defeatist depending on your state. Your only comparison can be with yourself. That is of course, if you feel such is necessary, which it is not.
You may have an opinion on this quote or on your ability to follow it, but this is one of those Morpheus phenomena, meaning whether you believe it or not does not change the practical truth within it.
The essence of me raising it up for you to consider, is to simply re-mind you also that wherever you are, whoever you are, and whatever you are being that "For things to change, you have to change".
Re-membrance and celebration of who you are and who you are being will bring you back to the light, one way or another. We are all in it together.
Thank you for coming back.
Go in peace,
Mikel

In social work there is this saying "you can't help anyone, until you help yourself"
i relate this to "for things to change, you have to be the change"
our very first basic need is breath, when we are born the very first thing we do is take in our first breath of air and then exhale, some of us exhaling a loud presence, others a quiet subtle one.
In growth and spirituality we need to inhale and exhale to live. you must take, and give, and find a balance.
social work has the highest rate of "burn out" meaning a lot is going into the "job" but not a lot is going back into the person doing the job. always giving, but never taking, or in other situations one is always taking, but never giving. it's like a pendulum, in order to find balance it must swing to one side, then the other, then find balance somewhere in between.
relating back to social work, if you are unbalanced your job will be much harder, and most importantly you will not achieve your maximum potential or goals.
personally i have been that social worker, and that person who gives, and barely takes. i have been a hyproctite to my job,and to myself. in the past while i was to the point i relaized i had been trying to walk through a brick wall, and if i pushed hard enough, or stared long enough it would move. i ventured out onto my spiritual, and self journey because i knew that wall wasn't going to move, and it was me who had to. Suddenly windows opened, and nature took it's course. i didn't feel such a resistance anymore. i am just new to this journey, but i am glad i fought, bled, cried, and struggled through the darkness because i discovered a light on my path, and without the journey i could not possibly appreciate that light as much as i do, or lead anyone to a place i did not know or understand. That would be like the blind leading the blind. so until i change and fully open my eyes, i cannot see. When i can see i can be of more use to mysel and others.
being able to change, and take for myself, has made so many changes in such a short amount of time, compared to a year of trying to change everything but myself, and getting no where.
me'ira,
Thank you for a wonderful comment that others can benefit from.
In your search for balance, between giving to others and the need for some kind of receiving to even the scales... I would suggest that you look within.
you are your own source of great light and it comes from somewhere, from that part of you that is connected to Creation. Here is your source of receiving, of replenishing your-self so that you may continue to give.
All things are connected, so are you.
Bless you,
Mikel
